The 10K No-Code Challenge!
Challenging myself to make $10k per month using no-code tools
Hey! Swaraj here. If you are reading this it means you’ve probably signed up to get these weekly updates that I’m sending out related to this challenge that I’ve set up for myself. It’s called the 10K No-Code Challenge.
So, What is 10K No-Code challenge?
The 10k No-code challenge is inspired by Pieter Levels’s 12 startup in 12 months challenge where he challenged himself to build and launch 12 startups in 12 months because he wanted to solve two major problems for himself:
Problem one: finishing
We creatives have one common problem: finishing things. From musicians to writers to developers, we are perfectionists and projects simply never are “just done”. There’s always that extra part to arrange, that extra chapter to write or that extra feature to add. Then when our projects are close to finish, we forget about them and go to the next one, without even launching them. We like the feeling of starting something “new”, we despise the feeling of finishing something “old”.
Problem two: launching
And then there’s our other problem: fear of failure. We are scared shitless to launch “our baby” we spent months on building out into the world. Why? Because in our head we have this perfect idea of how the launch should be. We’ll get major press coverage and lots of users signing up. However in practice, we’ll probably never be able to fit that fantasy with reality. The fear of failure takes over so we don’t put enough effort into launching or we don’t launch at all. Because what if anybody would actually use what we built? They might hate it! So better to not launch at all. It’s a destructive vicious cycle resulting in literally nothing. No progress whatsoever.
So, as someone who have faced similar problems of having a lot of unfinished projects and fear of failure I wanted to challenge myself to do the same. However, unlike Pieter who built and launched 12 startups in 12 months using code, I want to build tiny toy projects using no-code tools like bubble.io, make.com, etc, launch them fast (in days and not in months) and go from $0 to $10K per month.
The Plan?
As $10K per month sounds like a big goal to me, I’m breaking it into 10 levels so as to gamify the process of reaching my goal to earn $10k per month using no-code tools.
Following are the 10 Levels:
First $50
First $100
First $500
First $1000
$100/month
$500/month
$1000/month
$3000/month
$5000/month
$10000/month
Rules:
Always have a buy button on every project. (Inspired by Marc Lou)
Build and launch 1 new toy project every month until I reach level 7 i.e $1000/month.
Once level 7 is achieved either work on new projects or double down on the ones that achieved product-market fit.
Recurring Revenue > Non-Recurring Revenue. Which means If I made my First $100 and it is recurring then I can say I’ve reached level 5 by skipping level 3 and level 4.
Weekly Updates:
You’ll be receiving updates on every Sunday. Updates will mostly consist of things that I’ve tried in the previous week in order to achieve my goals related to the 10K No-Code challenge and progress reports. It will also include topics like how I find no-code toy project ideas, how I launch them fast using no-code tools and get profitable.
What has been hard so far?
Being accountable and consistent has been hard for me so far and because of this exact reason I’ve made the decision to start this newsletter and share my progress and learnings in public.
Many people wait to get that big vision while staying idle. I don’t think that’s the way though. By just doing something you position yourself ahead of most people already, and you’ll probably do the wrong thing. But that’s not the point. You’ll figure out what you need to do by exposing yourself to the world (and its market forces). And especially if you’re not experienced like me, I think it’s better to start small first, and slowly build bigger things. By doing nothing, you figure out exactly nothing.
Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
